屌儿啷当的北京青年王瑞，他好高骛远、不务正业，他不断闯祸让父亲忧心不已，尤其是让他爷爷操心。一天，爷爷拿出张旧地契，跟王瑞说，他在台湾垦丁有一块地，要王瑞拿去变卖创业，王瑞惊喜的说不出话来。天才自告奋勇陪他去垦丁，他是台商的儿子，号称自己是＂半个地陪＂。想不到，到了台湾，王瑞傻眼了，他必须去跟这128个人打交道，遇到了各式各样的人，其中最麻烦的是…卧病的老船长、潜水教练马卡龙夫妇、卖爌肉饭的林娘、一直没有现身的朱月娥以及欧阳晴，这姑娘才是他的噩梦。老船长是位长期卧病在床的独居老人，现在只能在自己的船屋里，每天等着社工来照顾他，王瑞和天才伺候老船长半天，老船长却迟迟不签字。马卡龙是潜水教练，酷爱海洋，王瑞和天才两人挑拨马卡龙和他的妻子感情，想藉此得到马卡龙的签字，没想到计划失败。王瑞和天才只好跟马卡龙下战帖，比赛项目却是潜水教练最擅长的潜水？！林娘，更是一个顽固的女人。她自编歌词以洗涤王瑞的心灵…，北京小子哪里听得懂韵味十足的古调，王瑞该如何才能体会林娘歌曲中的弦外之音呢？欧阳晴，个性倔强，王瑞劝说欧阳晴多次不成后，欧阳晴病弱的妹妹-小天却主动跟王瑞提了一个交换条件，只要完成她找妈妈的心愿，她就会劝姐姐帮王瑞签字。王瑞决定暪着欧阳晴，带着小天前往台南寻母。一段意外之旅，参与了风雨中的抢孤,经历了死亡，走过了爱情，这是一个让你快乐、感动的故事，有如剧中人说的一段话：“我虽然迷了路，但还好我看到了这片海。”

Based more on a stage adaptation by Mary Manning than the Joyce novel itself, the film concentrates on Dublin pubkeeper Finnegan (Martin J. Kelly), who while in the throes of inebriation has a vision of his own death. As the bemused Finnegan lies in his coffin, his friends gather for his wake. The "corpse" tries to cut through the keening and platitudes by probing the innermost thoughts of those closest to him. The surprising aspect of this film is that so much of its difficult text works on screen--a tribute to the loving care of scripter/director/ editor Mary Ellen Bute, who, while preparing this film spent her waking hours picking the brains and burrowing through the resource materials of the James Joyce Society.Although director Mary Ellen Bute’s highly regarded Finnegans Wake (aka Passages from Finnegans Wake) is a unique film that is likely to baffle anyone unfamiliar with James Joyce, it cannot be dismissed merely as a literary exercise. The director was right in claiming that her film was “not a translation of the book but a reaction to it”. It is actually based on a stage play by Mary Manning, who was also responsible for the screenplay. Joyce’s elliptical rhetoric and intricate punning, which might be considered a formidable barrier to the filming of this most opaque of his works, proved to be an attraction to Bute, whose enthusiasm for the ‘visual’ and ‘kinetic’ quality of his language led her to the surprising but well-judged move of running subtitles from the original text to support the dialogue.Visual music pioneer Mary Ellen Bute's final film was also her first feature film. James Joyce's classic story of Irish tavern-keeper who dreams of attending his own wake is brought to the screen with a sparkling energy which highlights its maker's career-long exploration of kinetic abstract animation. Perhaps best described as a 'film poem,' Passages from Finnegans Wake was the first attempt to 'cinematize' the works of James Joyce, featuring the author's highly original language spoken by characters and presented as text on screen.

Christine (Sandy McLeod), a bright and unassuming young woman, takes a job selling tickets at a porno theater near Times Square. Instead of distancing herself from the dark and erotic nature of this milieu, Christine soon develops an obsession that begins to consume her life. The character’s reaction unexpectedly flips normal gender roles; director Gordon daringly twists feminist ideology by showing a woman who finds self-expression through an interest in pornography. Variety becomes even more provocative when it dramatizes the changes that occur in Christine’s relationships with both Mark (Will Patton), her boyfriend, and Louie, a dangerous-looking patron of the theater.
