徐坦（白敬亭 饰）是个性格非常内向的男孩，在热爱乒乓球运动的爷爷的影响下，徐坦亦开始学习打乒乓球，就在他准备放弃的节骨眼上，一位经验丰富的教练在徐坦的身上发现了过人的天赋，通过系统而又严格的训练，徐坦的技术突飞猛进，很快就成为了球队里的中流砥柱。于克南（许魏洲 饰）的父亲曾是乒乓球国手，在父亲的教导之下，于克南的球技自然不容小觑，甚至被人称之为天才，他的性格也受此影响桀骜不驯狂放不羁。这样两个个性大相径庭的男孩，他们在球队里相逢了，他们从彼此的身上看到了自己所不具备的特指，互相较劲，共同进步。
